Does Trader Joe's Carry Kosher Wine

I went to my local Trader Joe's and discovered the following kosher wines on September 14th 2021:

There were two vintages from Givon, The Galilee Dry Red which is a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and a White Chardonnay. Next on the shelf were two sparkly Italian whites the Trader Joes Sara Bee Moscato and the famous Bartenura Moscato for more than double the price.

The fifth kosher wine that I found was hidden away with the real bubblies. In a discreet dark bottle with orange label and foil waits an Italian Prosecco by Deccolio at 11% alcohol by volume and only $7.99 per bottle it's a steal.

Behind Every Good Chef is a Great Garden

Every chef needs a garden to get their  fruits and veggies from. What better way than to plant that garden yourself.

You don't need a large space to start. You do not even need to dig. Here I'll demonstrate the beginnings of a no dig garden that can be started on any small patch of land be it covered in weeds or not.

How Many Za'atar Covered Chickpeas Fit on a Half Sheet Tray

Ever looking for a quick snack to make something you can grab to go without making a mess. Za'atar or any spiced roasted garbanzos get the trick done. Packed with protein am ready to  satiate you.

Gather the beans dry rub spices in any flavor combination that suits you and some fine oil preferably from an olive. Mix it up, pour it on a sheet tray, and bake at 350°F for about ten minutes. You want it to get a bit crunchy but not dried out or burnt.

You Don't Need an Immersion Blender, but it Helps.

Roasted Butternut Squash Surprise Soup

Normally this type of soup would be blended in the pot before serving. However, if your favorite immersion blender is hundreds of miles away you can finish the soup in a food processer. Do not use a blender with hot soup, the lid can fly off and seriously burn you, ER visits will follow. Another option is to dice all the vegetables super fine and the will start to dissolve while the soup simmers.

Clearly if you wish you can order one on amazon and make the soup in a day or two. That'll give you time to make sure you have all the ingredients or you can order those as well.


Start by sauteing the first three ingredients (listed below) until golden and aromatic.

Next add some more Olive oil and lightly sautee all the vegetables and the surprise fruit. Optionally, you can roast these ingredients instead.

Step three, add enough water to cover, let boil and reduce to simmer.

Lastly, season the soup with the spices listed below or however your heart desires. At this point if you're lucky enough to have an immersion blender you would blend the soup to your desired consistency.

1 yellow onion
1/2 head garlic
1 inch Ginger
1 medium butternut squash (2-3 pounds)
3 large potatoes
1 Apple.
Salt
Black pepper
Pinch of cayenne
Smoked paprika
